Introduction

After a successful edition as a Candidate Race in July 2019, we are happy to announce that Muspo Ultra will be a new points race for the Asia Trail Master Championship and Grandmaster Quest in the southern Philippines in 2022! Muspo Ultra features a 100km race to focus on - in the context of ATM - and is scheduled for 23/24 July.

Organised by a well-experienced group in Bukidnon, Mindanao, Muspo takes you the hilly terrains of Mount Musuan of Maramag and around the majestic Lake Apo of Valencia. With about 650 meters of elevation, Musuan Peak gives you a panoramic view of the province. Lake Apo gives you a mystical feel of nature with the lake and nearby mountain ranges.

The event offers a few distance categories: the 100 kilometer distance is for experienced runners the one one that matters for the Asia Trail Master points.

The trails are quite fast and runable with some portions that are technically challenging.

MUSPO ULTRA is not only a run but it’s a haven to connect with nature and marvel at its beauty.

Logistics

Bukidnon is kind of in the heart of the large island of Mindanao in the south of Philippines. To reach Valencia, the closest airport is Cagayan de Oro, from where cars and vans take you to the race venue in approx 3 hours. Davao is another option, but the road travel from there takes at least an hour longer.

In Valencia there’s plenty of hotels and guesthouses.
